To capture a self-portrait of myself indulging in my primary passion of photography would have been a little tough with only one camera… not to mention, oh-so-obvious! So I had to resort to my second passion: refereeing basketball! Here I am (yes, it’s a shameless self-portrait), all done up in my uniform, complete with whistle (and cardboard cut-out glasses, just for a laugh) and a basketball in the foreground.
I chose to publish this image in black-and-white only, to highlight the contrast of the black-and-white stripes on the uniform. I also felt that it softened up some of the unnecessary detail on my face (I just realised I need a shave grin).
For those interested in the technical details: HDR generated from one exposure using Photomatix Pro, enhanced and corrected using Lightroom, Photoshop and Topaz Adjust, and finally desaturated using Photoshop.
