As the sun finally dipped below the horizon to the west of Mentone Beach, the sky seemed to flare up in a warm, dim glow of orange for a brief moment. While the sky glowed, the streetlights that had come on up on the cliff behind the beach were casting an equally warm, orange glow on the wooden piles of the jetty. Knowing that this rare opportunity wouldn’t last long, I scrambled to get my equipment set up to capture one last shot for the evening before heading home.
For the those interested in the technical details: HDR image generated from three exposures (+/-2ev) using Photomatix Pro, then enhanced and corrected using Lightroom, Photoshop and Topaz Adjust.
