I lived in a small suburb town of Paris, France during the winter and spring of 2012. I was there studying art in Montemarte in Paris, at Studio Escalier. During those months I commuted to the school each day by train, and always passed by this graffitti. I thought it was really beautiful for some reason, and decided it needed to be painted. This is part of a series of paintings loosely titled Europa, from my time living in France. Original is oil on canvas.

I’ve always needed a creative outlet and have enjoyed drawing my entire life. About three years ago, inspired by the advice of other artists, I began creating art on a daily basis. That was a huge step for my work, which started improving dramatically. I got into studying classical realist approaches two years ago, and have been very fortunate to meet a nurturing community of fantastic painters. I’m indebted to many artists, writers, and musicians whose work has moved me to become an artist.
