This drawing of measuring spoons was done as a gift for my good friend Christopher. He hosted me for two weeks while I was looking for a new apartment. During that time I cooked a lot in their kitchen and really admired this antique set of measuring spoons they have. I knew it’d make the perfect subject for a thank-you present.

Original is charcoal on paper.

I’ve always needed a creative outlet and have enjoyed drawing my entire life. About three years ago, inspired by the advice of other artists, I began creating art on a daily basis. That was a huge step for my work, which started improving dramatically. I got into studying classical realist approaches two years ago, and have been very fortunate to meet a nurturing community of fantastic painters. I’m indebted to many artists, writers, and musicians whose work has moved me to become an artist.
