Full marks for effort, most people wouldn’t have bothered with the lack of lighting that day! The formation is called “Big Battle” but the formation with which they always start their displays is the “Diamond Nine”, this is generally regarded as the Arrows’ trademark. By the way, the aircraft are trainers, not fighters in RAF service.

  • Thanks Colin, there was no way I wouldn’t have tried for a shot although it was overcast and raining :) They are just fascinating when flying in formations. Many thanks for the additional info, it is such a priviledge to learn about things you shoot, the photography is educating me in many ways.
