Schminckies soft pastel on oriental practice sumi paper. 11″ × 14″. 2007.
While teaching English in Korea for a year I became overwhelmed with a sense of isolation after some time. I was located in a smaller city where few people (next to none) spoke English, not even the other Korean English teachers. I had my art to cling to. I’d pour out my frustrations and joys into my art in the midnight hours during incredibly hot nights and thoughout the grey, still winter afternoons.
Tea For One belongs to many groups but for some reason they don’t appear. It belongs to all the related groups which my other pieces are in.
Just want to say thanks for all the interest in this meaningful piece. Appreciate it.
