phone poetry

the best poems ever written
are done on sticky notes and napkins.
scraps of paper and bubble gum wrappers.

too bad i have a cell phone to type and text
my every thought in seconds.
what good is a phone for other then poetry?

because in reality, i don’t know
what to say to you unless it’s in person.
the when should i text him? the wondering
as if the exact moment in time makes a difference.
and then you do, so then you wait and worry.
all of this stress and by the time a conversation
is over an hour has passed for something that
would have taken 5 minutes on the phone.

so ridiculous.
so i won’t text anyone
other then myself.
dear me,
here’s some poetry.
hope you enjoy,
because you’re lovely.
