    I love the way you’ve taken this woman and created layers of feeling around her. She looks quiet, maybe a bit sad or pensive, yet is contradicted by the white dress, which seems like a party dress. Then you have taken the chalks and gestured over the painting, giving it a feeling of both incompleteness, yet energy as if the woman was seeing through where she is into something else entirely.

    I also like the way you boldly divided the canvass, yet drew in the energy from both sides with the line work over. The heavy white seems frothy rather than overwhelming, as if she were almost swimming.

    This is a very provoking painting. I’m very drawn into it. Thanks.
