The waves in Diamond Bay, on the Sorrento back beach, VIC are so fierce and unrelenting.

Works really well in landscape mode, opening out to the expanse of the bay. The way that the clouds mirror the water movement by seemingly rushing backwards like the sea and the sky are being sucked out of the horizon, bith falling off the edge of the world into the golden glow of light.

The way that the water streaks its white trails of beauty around the 3 rocks on the beach is superb.

waow, this is scarey. The water looks like hair, or tentacles. I used to have a dream that powerful waves kept dragging me back into the water, well, actually has happened in my hometown the waves are….....huge…......... averaging 4-6 foot then with a swell, 6-8 then after a storm.. 8 -12’
they make you feel as though you are inside a front loader! lol

yep, this is shot in RAW. Post processing included additional vibrance to bring out the amazing blues there was in the water.

I love how the backwash from the waves kind of leads you into the ocean, its almost like a pathway. Overall, the composition is just stunning. :)

i was a little worried standing there shooting, the waves came right up to the cliff face, and were very unpredictable.

I know how that feels like. While I was visiting Kauai’s north shore this summer I came upon a little grove where the waves looked like they could sweep in a whole boat. There was only about 10 feet of the sand visible but luckily there were some rocks behind there. The oceans fury was absolutely beautiful and frightening to watch.

Wow this is awesome. I love the softness and patterns in the waves. I have tried to do some long exposure shots at the beach but havent been able to get down there at dawn or dusk and i dont have an ND filter so my sky always looks washed out. but this….this is incredible
