Sunshine on a Gloomy Day

Sunshine on a Gloomy Day

Taken on a ship as it left Sydney Harbour; this is just to the right of the Harbour Bridge as you leave. This photo was taken on a rather glum day, but the Sun appeared just as we were leaving, giving pretty much everything an orange tint.

Love all the fiddly architectural components in this shot. It’s all about the angles, the vanishing point to the right, plus all the repetitive details. Pity the AMP building.

It’s the lovely clean vertical lines which catches my eye in this shot along with the warm glow of the light. Very nice shot indeed Well done!

Awesome! Beautifully captured, Love the lighting, colors and the way the buildings are The bridge in the back and the buildings from the city behind, adds the depth. Are the buildings on the waters Shipyard bays or ? I`ve never seen anything like them in my life. Just fantastic!

Thanks everyone. To be honest, I’m not sure what they are. I’m assuming though, that they’re the wharves which have recently been converted into apartments of some sort. It’s located by ‘Circular Quay (pronounced ‘key’)’ which is the main ferry terminal in Sydney. Unfortunately that’s about all the information I can give, but I appreciate the kind comments.

Thanks Derid. It’s amazing how the light works around here. Some days you could have all the glare in the world, and other times you just get a little trickle of light which is really nice.
