More fun with extension tubes
After watching and photographing the slow unfurling bud (see below and here), we left to walk the dogs. Upon our return, this acrobatic bloom. This is a closeup looking up at the tiny, tiny fruit of a cyclamen flower—a round pod that opens with 5 petals pointing upward and numerous sticky, amber seeds.
Cyclamen: a genus of 23 species of perennials growing from tubers, valued for their flowers with upswept petals and variably patterned leaves.
Each flower is on its own stem, bent downwards 150-180° at the end. There are 5 petals, connected at the base, bent outwards or up, and sometimes twisted.
Slight crop, only.

So pretty!
How detailed and powerful this is, you can see the life in it. I will never stop being in awe at beautiful flowers in this country. They are magnificent pieces of living architecture in their own right. The petals look as though they have been individually painted by someone special. I fell in love with the Iochroma Grandiosa the other day, must get me a garden. Nice capture my friend.
Sorry to comment again, but the one to the right, before unfolding, is so stunning too, such light and soft focus, depth of field etc, if I am right (not a photographer) that would make such a beautiful card for a newborn girl. I love it.
Thanks, Soaps! Done.
