A full-time gardener, pruning in the rain. Why hike for hours in the rain, searching for rutting bull moose to photograph? Only to find this handsome bull moose pruning bushes and trees in the rain when we headed home—a joy to see.
Original title from Peter Davidson at 1×.com, who suggested Hoots Mon! There’s a moose loose about the hoose! recording now on youtube.

A fav for me Jan. Great job.—Steve
They do keep the bushes trimmed, Steve. His ears weren’t pulled back at this point; too busy chewing.

Oh Jan this is an awesome ‘bull’ capture (we can tell he’s not inflatable). ♥ how you captured him … a FABULOUS capture indeed!! Take Care ~ Rick & Deb ~ ☺ OOPS … P.S. HUGE CONGRATS on your feature in Alaska ~ Beyond Your Dreams … well done my friend!!!
Cute, eh? Later he got grumpy and did that less cute thing with the ears. That’s gratitude — with a jaw full of our remaining foliage.
(That was a feature, already?)

Wouldn’t it be cool to have a lifelike inflatable half-a-moose?
Congratulations on your great grizzly!

how nice to meet your pet …MOOSE?
We didn’t name him, Soxy, as they’re not very loyal.

Oh my….Oh my…..A very big moose…..What a great photo Jan…..
And you — a beautiful fritillary, Donna! From the tiny to the large.
– Jan Timmons
Wow – beautiful shot Jan – these guys are big aren’t they?
Loomed large from my height and weight, Richard. Howard’s, too.
– Jan Timmons
About size and weight, wikipedia has this to say, Richard:
“On average, an adult moose stands 1.8–2.1 m (6–7 ft) high at the shoulder6. Males weigh 380–720 kg (850–1580 pounds) and females weigh 270–360 kg (600–800 pounds).7 The largest of all is the Alaskan subspecies (A. a. gigas), which can stand over 2.1 m (7 ft) at the shoulder, has a span across the antlers of 1.8 m (6 ft) and averages 634.5 kg (1,396 lbs) in males and 478 kg (1,052 lbs) in females.8 Typically, however, the antlers of a mature specimen are between 1.2 m (3.9 ft) and 1.5 m (4.9 ft).”

a very brave angle of view, Jan!
Actually, sort of a dumb and risky view, but I do love the beasts.

Excellent capture, my friend!
Béla, thanks!

Not quite the thing (or size) of what we see in our back yard! Simply—gawd!
What? No roos in every yard? There goes that lovely myth.
