"FEATURED" Ground Zero - Remembering 9/11

Peering through a veil of red, white and blue, consciousness resurfaces. Eyes open and blink back the disbelief of what they witness…

Leviathan shards of poker-hot steel pierce the skin of Mother Earth marring her beauty and turning her into a macabre pincushion.

Grey-black clouds choke the terrain, all the while ashes of destruction rain down upon the terror-stricken survivors staring up in absolute horror.

How can paper flutter to the ground un-singed, un-tattered, deftly floating like myriad snowflakes… when as if in Hades bodies are flung through the air, some still in flames, some smoldering on the ground?

How can our peace, security, sanctuary and our free nation be felled with such a horror? What can be done to right this terrible injustice?

A most blessed country and society has been shocked to its very core. This demoralizing rain of annihilation shakes her spirit. Faces… ghost-like from shock, fear and ashes… blankly stare, yet through it all her people still come forth.

What a strong people God hath wrought!

AMERICA AWAKENS! Her flame of patriotism is fanned by the desperate need facing her, and her people rush to her aid in legions.

The spirit of this mighty nation rises on wings of the eagle, our American symbol of freedom and strength. A flooding forth of our patriotism and an overriding desire to survive flourishes from the ashes.

In the midst of utter disbelief, panic and pain comes blessed relief…firefighters police, medical personnel, military, and mankind from all walks of life come forth with an undaunted spirit for survival. They toil mightily to provide aid, comfort, clear rubble and give sustenance to any and all in their hours of greatest need.

Emergency help arrives by the thousands The absolute essence of humanity… our very life’s blood… is given abundantly, overwhelming the efforts of relief. Warehouses rapidly fill with emergency supplies, even the children donate sums of money to provide for supplies that may save someone’s life.

Our Lord has given much for us, He has blessed, protected and provided for us. Our faith in Him is renewed nation-wide as we are drawn together and strengthened by the refiners fire. Prayers stream heavenward in a rush asking for blessings on the afflicted. Prayers of gratitude are uttered for the faith, belief and assurance we have all felt through renewal.

Father… comfort them in their tragic loss, bless all that are still needing answers. Please lessen the pain of those still waiting buried in their prisons of concrete and twisted steel. Also, dear Father, bless the souls of all who have left our mortal reign and take unto Thyself their precious spirits, guide them safely through Thy eternities.

America has seen ground zero, but we are also witnessing Heaven’s pinnacles. Never forget… patriotism is our means and prayer is our absolute answer!

Artist's Description

Now that we are coming up on the anniversary of September 11, 2001, I felt the need to present this piece on RedBubble. It is not meant as a criticism of other nations or peoples, simply a reality of my emotions at that time.

I wrote this piece on September 11, 2001 in the hope that my words and thoughts would help me wrap my brain around the horrors of that day. This work is not meant to scorn anyone in any way, it is simply a way to express the spirit of the people of America.
