Lemon Bottle Brush
These flowerets are from one of the lemon-flowered Callistemons I grew from seed. I THINK this one is Callistemon Pinifolius.

Jan what a beautiful shot, I love the gum flowers, georgeous detail, waht a pleasure when you have grown it yourself, cheers- Valerie

Thank you so much, Valerie. It’s just such a shame that so much of what we grew and planted has not survived the drought, or had a much shortened life span. We are still losing them, one by one.

Yes, you’re right with the name and what a gorgeous flower it is. I can’t ever recall seeing one of these over our side though. Nice work Jan. Peter

Thanks for the lovely comment and confirmation on this one, Peter. What with baby magpies pinching the name tags from thumb pots, and moving thumb pots around as I was setting them out, then my having to replace failed plants, I’m not really sure what most of them are!!! I have another lemon callistemon, weeping, with more densely packed brushes than this, which I believe is the lemon form of Callistemon Paludosis. I’ll post a pic of that one in due course. ;-))
