I’m so happy your earliest expressed wish of getting a good bluejay shot has come true; you have done Mr. Jay proud!
Jan Piller replied
Oh no – I’m still not happy – still haven’t got the one I want! hahaha picky picky – so I’m still working on it! hahahaha
Bunny Clarke
What a proud little creature. Full of a kind of royal bearing. Well captured.

stunning Jan
- the lighting is amazing – and the perch is classic – well done -I am headed to blue jay country in a few weeks – would love to get a good shot of one – davJan Piller replied
Thanks Dave! they love peanuts but make sure you get the raw ones from the pet food store and not a human grocery store. Even the unshelled ones are bad for birds.
Bonnie T. Barry
That’s why you’re a pure-D Professional, Jan! You compete against yourself and win every time! Keep up that fighting spirit!
Jan Piller replied
hahahah – either that or I’m neurotic! hahahahaha

So pretty – - – that wallpaper effect is beautiful!!!!!
Beve Brown-Clark

superb in every detail!
Peter Zentjens
Wow, beautiful work Jan!
It’s also rather confusing for me because the birds I have been calling Blue Jay’s for a long time now apparently aren’t!
Jan Piller replied
Hahahahaha – you need to get a Peterson’s Guide Peter!
Joanne Bradley
This one is really well done Jan! The focus on the bluejay is excellent and his position great. And the subtle texturized background highlights his coloring.
Jan Piller replied
Thanks Joanne! I still haven’t got the shot I’m looking for!
Heather Rivet...
outstanding Jan your whole bird series is exquisite
icesrun
Wonderful shot. I have two that are just outside on the grass. Cannot catch them. Their topnots are a little bigger than this ones. They are truly beautiful. A cardinal checks out the yard at other end. Cannot telephoto him, too far away.
Jan Piller replied
Yh – I went and boought some sunflower seeds to see if I could lure acardinal into my yard – so far – no luck. The bluejays are plentiful enough but they’re so fast! They don’t sit still for even a second.
Ric Alexander
