STUNNING IMAGE Jan…Steve
Von McKnelly
How you can make a cold winter’s landscape look so inviting I’ll never know.
Jan Piller replied
It’s the hoar frost Von – it’s a very pretty kind of frost – grows early in the morning – do you not get hoar frost where you are?
Von McKnelly
No it’s more like two meters of snow or nothing here. Very seldom will we have frost on the ground.
Mel Brackstone
Must try to get to see hoar frost one day…..this is very beautiful!
Mel Brackstone
PS, we don’t even see frost in our refrigerators anymore, let alone outside in the real world….heh

I like this a lot..great work Jan :)
Anne McGinn
At first I thought it was an hdr shot, but its snow and ice… brilliant capture
Jan Piller replied
Thanks Anne – it’s hoar frost. Hoar frost needs just the right atmospheric conditions to form – early in themorning. It usually starts to form around 4or 5 a.m. and then as soon as the sun starts at it it flys off the trees just like snow. It’s beautiful to behold if you’re willing to get up that early!
Alf Caruana
this is something else, the mood is magnificent

... don’t know how I missed this one … but … puff puff puff … here I am!!! Better late than never!!! WOOOOOOOOOOooOOOoo!!! I was just cruising thru the Most Popular 30-day pages and this baby dragged me right in … and lo and behold it’s another one of those magical pieces by our Jan!!!! You clever thing you … this is GORGEOUS!!! As much as I hate to say it, you’re actually inspiring me to get up early once in awhile and see what Mother Nature’s got up her sleeves!!!!!! This truly is magical, sweetie!!!!!
Jan Piller replied
hahahah! you’re so funny! yah – get your butt out out of bed at a ridiculous hour and you’ll be surprised what you find! LOL!
Lois Bryan
... sigh … my problem is I stay up too late … that’s usually when inspiration hits … why is that, I wonder?? Actually I do have a series of shots I took at day break up at the cabin weekend before last, one of which I’ve been considering uploading … they’re pretty far out of my usual realm … but I keep going back to them … we’ll see …
Jan Piller
If you keep going back to them, it’s a pretty good indication there’s something to it!Upload it! You never know till you try!
