nice toadstool.. great image!!!! : )
Jan Piller replied
Thanks Linifer! it’s a toadstool? Is that the same as a mushroom? I never knew what the difference was.. guess I should look it up… thanks!
Carla Jandelle...
i’m MOVING! (toadstools are an old name given to any unidentified mushroom hundreds of years ago…that has stuck. :o) )
Jan Piller replied
Oh you would have been in your glory Carla – there was so many different kinds – some were big giant size ones and some were so small – no bigger than a pin head! They were orange and gold and yellow and white and brown and even some red ones!
linifer
i guess its real term is a fungi, which is toadstool and mushroom. its called Amanita muscaria and is usually found in pine forests and well known for its hallucinogenic qualities!!! : )
Jan Piller replied
Whoo hoo! I don’t have to buy tequila anymore! hahahaThe forest floor was full of all different kinds!
Karen Cook
The toadstool is obviously fantastic (great light, colour etc…) but I LOVE the selective light on the leaves in the foreground more ~ wonderful piece Jan!!! :o)

Beautiful, light, colour and composition.

hahah – thanks Mark – the trick is to find the darkest part of the forest and then just hope that a tiny sunbeam will illuminate something worth taking a picture of! LOL!
khadhy

Adam Gormley
Hi Jan, beautiful mushroom photo, love the dramatic treatment too :)
Holly Cawfield
Magical Jan! Not only is the light the big story here but the gold and texture of the mushroom cap….what a fabulous combination of light and subject. I expect to see little eyes poking from behind the stem….it surely is a fairy tail mushroom!!! FABULOUS work!
Alison Jane Rice
A golden treasure…beautiful photograph, Jan
