Oh damn! LOVE the mist and the way the rocks lead your eyes to the trees! The two colored sky is cool too. How’d you manage that?

  • Jan Piller replied

Thank Anthony! The sky is a mistake – didn’t have my polarizer fully spun around – I had my camera down and was shooting blind because there was a hill right behind me.

  • Karen Cook

Wow….........Such a beautifuly breathtaking composition. You have captured it perfectly Jan. The reflection is amazing

  • Jan Piller replied

Thanks Ken! It’s strange that in this image the island seems so far away and yet in reality, it was very close – I swam back and forth to it while on vacation. Perspective is a weird thing isn’t it!

  • Ken Boxsell

I know what you mean Jan. I think for me its because my minds eye sees a tree and instantly designates a relationship of great height. Therefore the reflected treeline , whilst extending deep into the foreground, imparts a sense of great distance too.
Swimming…....OMG….......I hope its another illusion because that water looks really cold Jan. You are certainly gamer than me.

  • Jan Piller replied

Oh that makes sense… the water was beautiful to swim in! Especially in the evening as the sun was going down!
