Oil on Canvas 90 × 120cm silver metal leaf and blue glaze.

This is a great blues artist from Geelong, Stringybark Mac Dowell, he has paid homage to his great love of the blues in a fabulous tattoed back piece.

He leans on his favorite chrome guitar as one would lean on a good mate, the guitar reflects a distorted image of his tattoo in mutual admiration.

This is part of my series of tattooed people for my exhibition at the Brunswick St Gallery Brunswick Melbourne, 13th March 2009, you all welcome.

You’re just an wonder! To be able to paint what you do…wow!! It’s no wonder people mistake them for pics! And you have no tats of your own. Fascinating. It’s a stunning series. You really have captured the personality of each canvas of tats. I think it’s really cool that you painted them all faceless…allows the focus to be on the tats only. Brilliant work can’t wait for what’s next!

  • Thanks everyone for your comments…
and not all of them will be faceless, it all depends on the image and what I am trying to get across, but you are very observant Kathi. I have a few more in the pipeline and will post them when they are finshed thanks again Kathi.
