Pygmalion in reverse

Pygmalion in reverse

Pygmalion is a legendary figure of Cyprus, Pygmalion is a sculptor who falls in love with a statue he has made. He offers the statue presents and eventually prays to Venus (Aphrodite). She takes pity on him and brings the statue to life.

There have been many interpretations of Pygmalion and this is my version, the reverse happens. The artists love of his craft is so strong and deep it has brought the tattoo to life and immediately she falls in love with him, this is evident by the heart shaped bows she has created to show him her intentions.

Pygmalion in reverse belongs to the following groups:

1 on 1: The Fine Art of Portraiture , "Real" Life Artwork (No Photography), ART HOUSE PRODUCTIONS INTERNATIONAL, Fine Arts, Impressionist Art, Kustom Kulture, Love & Romance , Men Appreciation and Tattoo, Piercing and Body Modification Available for sale as

  • BadTaste

    BadTaste

His gloves and her leg should be ink stained, but its a beautiful piece. love your work.

  • Janne Kearney replied

Yeah and the tattoo shouldnt be coming to life either !?

  • BadTaste

    BadTaste

Not a great argument since that’s the whole point of the painting. If the story included magical invisible ink that stops bleeding, then maybe the fact he’s still tattooing while it’s coming to life would make more sense. it was just a suggestion, sorry you find critiques so offensive.

  • Janne Kearney replied

Just enjoy and take a step into fantasy, suspend reality! Maybe he is just about to begin tattooing the next bit! lol… Feel free to critise away… not that I asked for one. Your comment doesnt offend me if it did I would have deleted it. Seems your the only one arguing.
