Hi to all my friends…I was fortunate enough to recently be contacted by the group “Friends Of Redbubble” to be interviewed and I am honoured to have been chosen.
Here is the copy of the interview for you to read…Hope you enjoy it. Cheers…Janine :)
State your name and the groups you hosts.
Hi everyone, my name is Janine and I currently am sole hosting “Garden Sculptures & Ornaments”, and I co-host “The 2,3,4, Club” with bygeorge “Glitter, Sparkle & Shine” with my best friend MoragBates “People At Work” with bygeorge, The Rainbow Bridge Group" with Morag Bates, “The World Of Maltese ShihTzu” with Morag Bates and “Truckies ‘N’ Trucks” with bygeorge.
Why is art and creativity important to you?
In my way of thinking, to be creative you really get to know yourself and get such great satisfaction from something you have achieved, even if it is only in a small way. It allows a person to reach out to others with the same interests too if they choose to and opens up a new world of colour and experiences with others. This has happened to me since being here on Redbubble.
Where did the inspiration for your group/s come from?
Mostly the inspiration came from making such great friends on here and putting our heads together to do something as a team effort from enjoying each others photography we share.. Working with all my hosts is a wonderful exciting experience for me and in particular Morag Bates who is a very special and dear friend who I cherish.
What do you enjoy most about being a host?
It certainly keeps me flat out being a host and co-host to 7 groups. I thoroughly enjoy the team effort we have with each other and setting challenges and doing features has to be the highlight of it all for me. Meeting new members, seeing their art is so enjoyable, and helping anyone who may need it. It is a privilege to be a host on Redbubble.
What do you think artists get out of being a part of your group/s?
Personally I think they get enjoyment and a thrill to think their art has been featured at some stage. A challenge gets them out there in the field doing the hobby they love best I hope, and for members to belong to a group of a particular type is rewarding in the fact that all members there have the same interests. This has to be good!
What life skills do you think have helped you be a good host (e.g. something you’ve learnt in a job or parenting skills)
All my life I worked in the retail industry and secretarial area, and learnt many skills to work with people in general. Communication skills are important and I think you definitely need this to host a group. Dealing with people on a daily basis as I did for 28 years taught me to be patient, polite, and helpful whenever I could. I still hold this skill dear to my heart today with all situations I come across!
As a sign off, share one work you’re particularly proud of …
