Minds out of gutters (I am awesome at THAT “doing it”, I’m sure of it lol).
As some of you know I’m currently trying to get prints and/or canvases done to display for sale in a local gallery. The trouble I’m having is that I can’t seem to get nice, large ones (like around 1 metre long or something) done because of my photos not having enough resolution for good quality.
Here are my exact queries for you learn-ed sorts in bubble land :
1. Is it because I am saving my photos from Lightroom as JPEG in a folder in my ‘pictures’ file on the computer – should I be doing something else with them or getting them direct from Lr to the online printer lab somehow?
2. Is it because of my aging Sony A200 (10.2 mp) that is now about 5-6 years old, or perhaps the kit lenses that I use with it?
Is it just because I do too much processing, therefore losing too much info? – I hope not this one because I didn’t think I adjusted all that much and I like the processing part, mucking around with the colours and contrast a bit, etc.
Please help because my research is showing me that people in this area tend to buy the large prints in frame or on canvas much more than they will buy the smaller prints of any kind. I don’t know much about this part because I’ve never printed anything (apart from three small foam inner ones because I was curious to see what the foam inner thing looked like).
