A pencil sketch of one of my favourite models (who was having a bad day) combined with photo of house under demolition. The house had one wall left only but you could still see wallpaper remnants and the outline of the staircase.

I found the image disturbing and still do even although it was shot about 10 years ago. I thought of the photo when I was reading about the recent displacement of 1.5 million people in China as a result of new construction for the Olympic Games.

Deconstruction, deterioration and erosion are themes that interest me a lot in art.
