A Full Moon by

A Full Moon is the second of a series of paintings of lotuses on rice paper. I started by printing a background and working directly with the ink stick instead of a brush. It is difficult to control the drawing but this method gives an energy and immediacy to the image. I’m still in the early stages of experimentation but feel this painting embodies a lot of what I want to visually accomplish and that the methods will lend themselves to well to more abstract work.
