I was born and brought up in a small village in Scotland. As a kid I spent most of my time drawing, painting and making presents and toys from household junk. I never imagined working in any other field. However, for most of us life’s path is never a direct one and I have wound my way through many careers and countries– sadly often without sketchbook or camera.
I now live in Hong Kong and have finally the time to refocus on my art and learn Chinese painting. I have an MA Hons History of Art and have studied – if sporadically – both fine and applied arts at various institutions including the Ecoles de Beaux Arts (Geneva and Toulouse).
Each country and culture has given me a unique artistic experience. It is now my hope to synthesise these experiences and realise some of the many paintings that I carry in my head.
