Hi, thank you for visiting!

My name is Janette McGuffog and I live in N.S.W, Australia, in between the Historic town of Braidwood and the little township of Bungendore. At the moment I am selling my work mainly in Canberra and along the South Coast. I am pleased to report that my paintings have sold to people from around the world, adorning walls in the USA, England, New Zealand and even Holland.

I started painting about 10 years ago. I’m not too sure how it all began, I haven’t had any ‘training’ or classes, I guess I just saw something I liked one day and thought ‘I wonder if I could paint that?’ and ever since I discovered that I could in fact ‘paint that’, there’s been no turning back. I have a studio, a little place of my own in which to be creative, thanks owing to my husband who graciously gave up half of his shed for this to happen.

I’ve painted on everything and anything from antique kitchen cabinets to old wood saws and hat-racks. In the last five years however, I’ve focused more on framed canvases and acrylics as my talent and love of art has grown.

I have a love of colour and a passion for experimenting with mixed media. I find beauty in almost everything I see, particularly in the natural world, and I try to capture this in my paintings. I enjoy experimenting with flowers, nudes, and still-life. I am also a talented textile artist creating beautiful felted organza scarves using the bright, bold colours that are in my paintings.
