Red, Black and Purple

I write this for myself and for the love I may never know and for all those who have lived or are living through long distance or with unrequited love. xx

Red, Black and Purple belongs to the following groups:

All Out Emotion, All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical, Core [C.O.R.E], Lifeline, Live, Love, Dream: and Vibration in Art and Verse - VAVoom!

This deep grown longing
That lingers in the shadows
Whispering the need
To lie with you at nightfall
To wake with you tomorrow

Shall I leave you now in this dream field with feathered whispers or a tender kiss or a ring of glowing gold? Or tears of meaning and much untold that searched but could not find a voice to tell you what I really felt. The words that now linger in the shadows, pale and ghostly as they feel your soul of deep yearning, at times as complex and as cold as the pattern of purple rose petals lying on the damp moss of my garden and at times as warm and sweetly scented as a showy bouquet set to excite today but die tomorrow, as changeable as winter’s shadows. A canvas splashed with red, black and purple, roiling with passion and at times with poison that makes me long to be pricked, to see my own blood, to feel the heat, to taste it and know that I am living. Still, my heart walked through your intricate gate and stayed beneath the gables to be with you for reasons known only to my searching soul. Did I ever leave you with a feeling of being held on blissful borders? Did I heal some hurt or ease the strain as you turned the midnight corners?

In your lonely walk
Could you feel my open hand
Touching your life’s pain
My burning need to hold you
To write a healing heart song

Glad to bowl you over, any time!
One of your lines in there brought me back to something I wrote in one of my many hours of darkness, spurring a repost of ‘Waiting for you’. I think it slipped by everyone in the enormous volumes of stuff here at RB, which is just as well because it was a gutwrenching piece of questionable creativity. The line had to do with the ‘dream field’ which to me is a place all too real. If you didn’t catch it when it went by, and have a few minutes to kill, check it out…Unrequited love at its most gutwrenching..xx

“Still, my heart walked through your intricate gate and stayed beneath the gables to be with you for reasons known only to my searching soul.” – fantastic line. Oh those questions you ask … such big questions. Lingering in the shadows … passion … and poison … Hmm… What an amazing piece of writing.
