Walk this magical journey
Painted by the moon
Like colored silks of the east
I slip along beside you
Is it our differences that make us so wary of each other instead of bringing us closer together in admiration? I am fascinated by the exotic richness of your color and by the diversity of your culture. Just as I am in awe of the waxing and waning of the moon, so I am in awe of your intelligence, your triumphs and your compassion. I see the beauty of your eyes, your hair, your skin and your language. Why would I hate you because you are different from me? Am I so small minded, so fearful, so blinded and so without love that I cannot see how beautiful you are? We may be different colors, speak different languages and have different cultures but we are still the same. Therefore when you cry, I will cry with you and when you laugh, I will laugh with you. If you fall down I will help you up. You will hear my music and eat from my table and I will protect your children. When you offer me your hand in grace, I will hold it and as you walk your journey I will slip quietly along beside you and I will love you because we are the world. Equals.
