Without these masks we have made
Sealed up in heaven
Parade my gifts of beauty
Look for you in everything
If you were me and I was you and we dropped our masks and put the fear in our hearts to rest, would you still care for me? If we no longer feared that we would not like each other’s weaknesses and we saw each other’s sharp contrasts, the vibrant happiness, the walking wounded, the nurturing love and the sadness deeper than the sea, would you still care to be close to me? It will be without these masks that we have made and when we see the scars and the imperfection of humanity in one another that I will shine for you and you will be the sun for me. When the expectation of perfection falls away so that you can see my naked face and heart and I can see yours, then we are sealed up in heaven as we confidently parade all our given gifts of beauty, to combine them and to build an empire with deep foundations. When you love me just as I am then I look for you and I see you in everything. When you are you and I am me.

To find this kind of nakedness with another….the raw side of loving this speaks so loudly to me. It has rather filled me with a deep contemplation. This is not just a romantic union…this is equivalent hearts finding the joy of the realness in each other.
