Carpe Nocta
You could call this A Vampire’s Love. I was quite taken by the vampire novels of Anne Rice ( a number of years now…) and this just popped into my head one night…
Carpe Nocta belongs to the following groups:
All Things Poetic, Artistic, PhilosophicalFleeting shadows,
Tease my vision.
I glance around and you’re gone.
A mist shrouding my eyes,
Feeling for moments of stolen joy –
Reaching out for reality,
Reaching out – out into the haze.
Hoping vainly to trace your footsteps,
Tagging my behind.
The soft breeze of your passing.
Candle flickerings – spluttering out.
Leaving me wrapped in the darkness.
Seeing half shadowsa move from the void,
I’m halfway there, halfway to nowhere.
Waiting for your guidance,
To hold my hand as we move a slow tango –
Revolving around.
Time’s passing halted, a shallow breath held.
Too brief is this stolen moment.
Wishing my mortality awway,
Away as the albatross dips it’s wing over deep ocean spray.
Disappearing, a twilight shadow slipping…
Out and beyond where I can stay.
Take me, oh take me,
Into your world of half shadows,
Night shadows, stalkling their prey.

Night shadows have never seemed more appealing…a nice piece of classic literature, Jane.
I’d be most pleased if something like this popped into my head one night!

Thanks Tim! I’m glad you liked this – it’s hard knowing if you got across what you wanted to!
