A sculpture on exhibit at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, DC that captures a child’s attention. The artist is Ron Mueck, whose sculptures reproduce the minute detail of the human body, but play with scale to produce disconcertingly jarring visual images. This sculpture is part of an exhibition called Strange Bodies and its permanent home is now in DC at the Hirshhorn.

That’s very cool. I love seeing kids studying things, and what a magnificent thing this is.

  • Thanks Cathleen! The kids really enjoyed it as well. It really is fun to watch them as they explore and learn. Priceless.

Extremely intriguing sculpture! It would not have the same dramatic impact without the child……Excellent composition!

  • Thank you Pat. She walked up to it with such intrigue. I immediately started snapping. I am in awe of the artist. It’s an incredible sculpture.

This is such an amazing cature in everyway. His eyes look down directly on the little girl, Im thinking she stood there for some time in astonishment, “Is he real” The shadows that are cast on the floor. If not for the little girl this pic probably would not have had the same effect.
Well done this is brilliant. Congratulations on your feature, :-))

  • Thank you Tania for your wonderful comments! I really appreciate it! I think one of my favorite aspects is that he is looking directly at her..very creepy.
