OSWALD IN THE PARK
This is just a little story about healing and forgiving. And it also says that no matter what your sins, if you are truly sorry and ask ‘The Boss’ to forgive you, then you will have a chance to become an angel and live in heaven too.
OSWALD IN THE PARK belongs to the following groups:
Bubblettes, Everyday Life, Fine Arts, Parallel Dimensions, Safe Haven, Short stories - Spherical Scriptings, Something To Say, Spiritual Art, Two Beings Group and WMGOswald was just an old guy that worked in an accounting office. He was on his way home from work and he decided to take a short cut through the park. Well, of course that was a mistake. He was jumped by two thugs. They beat him up and took all of his money. They hit him so hard on the head that he never woke up. He was dead the next day when some people strolling in the park found him. Oswald went to heaven. It wasn’t quite what he had expected, in fact he felt like he was right back at work at his accounting office. They took him into a little room and asked him questions about his life. They seemed to know a lot more about him than he knew about himself. They wanted to know why they should consider making him an angel? After all, he had smoked, drank, and cheated on his wife. Oswald said that he only smoked, drank and cheated a little, and afterwards he always prayed for forgiveness. He also said that he was actually doing his wife a favor by staying married to her, because she was a bitter old harpy that would be completely lost without him, and to maintain his sanity he had taken up a small affair with his secretary at work who was love starved. He said he didn’t see any harm in giving people what they needed. His wife needed a husband and his secretary needed love and attention. The very official looking person behind the desk said they would be back in a few minutes to let him know one way or the other on the status for his application for angelhood. After a while the very official looking person came back and said that Oswald was going to be sent on a proving mission back to earth to the same park that he had been offed at. Oswald was shocked, “What!? Back to earth! No way, I want to stay here and be an angel. I’m tired. My life wasn’t that easy, and I am ready for angel retirement.” The very official looking person just gave Oswald a bored stare and said, “I’m sorry Oswald, but this is the way God runs things around here. You have to do what the what the Boss says.” So Oswald was sent back to the same park he had just croaked at a few days before. People could see him, when he wanted. If he didn’t want then they could not see him. He just looked like a bum, he preferred this image, so that he could see how truly giving and forgiving strangers would be in their interactions with him. After all, it was only human nature to be more wary of people who looked down and out, and those who would take the time to be kind to him in some manner then were probably of good spirit and heart. It had been made clear to him that his mission was to do good deeds for those who were deserving and he was supposed to seek these people out in order to do his good deeds. He was also told that the same bad guys that had hurt him would strike again, and it was his assignment to protect the next victim and make sure that the bad guys got caught. This is what the Boss wanted. When these things were accomplished Oswald could come back to heaven and join the angel forum in good standing. This would also make-up for any misfortunate decisions in his past about moral choices. This was his chance to get in good graces with the Boss and be forgiven for his past transgressions. So Oswald became known as a regular bum at the park. Oswald was always looking for good deeds to do, whether he was visible or not. When Oswald made himself visible, he would just sit on a park bench looking disheveled, slightly hung-over and tired. That was his cover, no one would ever truly suspect or know that he was an angel in becoming. Most people would just walk past him, like he didn’t even exist. But when Oswald made himself invisible, which was more often than when he was visible, he would be very busy looking for good deeds to do and doing them. It didn’t take very long for the park to gain a new reputation as some sort of stomping grounds for miraculous happenings, because Oswald had been quite busy looking for people to help or just make happy with good deeds. He watched over people and kept them from getting hurt. Many times they didn’t even know that he had done this, or that they had been in harms way. For instance, one time a little girl had been swimming in the water and a power boat was going to hit her. Oswald went into the water and moved her. The little girl didn’t see him, so she just thought it was the current of water grabbing a hold of her and moving her. Another time a car was rolling backwards in the parking lot and it was going to hit a little boy. Oswald made the wheel of the car swerve, and this made the car bump up against another car instead so that the little boy was spared. Oswald did good things like this all the time. Many of the miracles he preformed went unnoticed, however many were noticed too. Every time he performed a miracle he would score points on his angel application. Oswald really started getting into his job, and he decided it wasn’t so bad to be back on earth, after all it was kind of fun saving and helping people, and he got to stay in a gorgeous park all day. One day Oswald saw his wife in the park sitting on an old red checkered blanket eating a basket lunch. She looked solemn and a little sad, and he thought she had probably come to the park as a remembrance of him. Then he saw his secretary sitting on a bench not very far away from where his wife was. His secretary was feeding the birds, and she was probably on her lunch break from the office. He wondered which accountant she had been transferred to in lieu of him, or who she worked for now. She looked forlorn and solemn too. He decided to put it into each woman’s minds to notice each other and he put a strong idea into their minds to be friends, because he loved both of them and he thought maybe a friendship between the two of them would be helpful for both of them since he was no longer there. So when the secretary got up from the bench after feeding the birds, she walked past his wife who was still eating on the red checkered old blanket and they recognized each other. They secretary started a conversation with his wife, and was invited by his wife to sit down on the old red checkered blanket. They sat and talked for a long time, an hour or so, and Oswald listened. They said good things about Oswald, and they both said that they missed him. At the end of the conversation, they had both decided to meet in the park again next week. Oswald smiled and felt good. Oswald had a kind spirit and had loved both women very much. He had done a favor for them that he was sure would help them in the future. He felt that this bonding would help them to be strong and to deal with any future life problems that might come their way. He hoped that he had started a new and rewarding friendship for both of them, so that they wouldn’t be alone, and his spirit intuition told him that he probably had. He had a lot of powers that he still wasn’t quite used to and one of them was the ability to read people’s minds, put ideas into people’s minds, and sort of be able to effect the future in one way or another.
Later that same day ,in the evenging time, Oswald saw the same thugs that had mugged him getting ready to attack another little old guy in a similar way. They were hiding behind some bushes waiting for the little old guy to come along the park path. Oswald had the ability to light up, to become like a beacon, and he dedided to use this ability at that moment because he saw a police car driving past the park, and he knew that the bright light would get their attention and they would come check it out to see what was going on. When the police came to check out the bright light, Oswald had already turned off his effect, however the two thugs panicked and ran from the bushes, and the police followed them in hot pursuit. The police told them to stop, and when they didn’t stop, the police opened fire on them and shot them. Oswald had saved the little old man from being mugged, and maybe killed. At that point in time Oswald felt this fell swoop, and he was whisked back up to heaven. When he got back up to heaven the same very official looking person was waiting for him, and congratulated him on doing such a fine job in the park. The official looking person took him into an office and told him that his angel application had been approved. The official looking person said there was only one requirement of his new status as an angel. “What is that,” Oswald asked.” “Well”, the very official looking person said, “the two thugs that had offed you were shot by the cops and died. They have come up to heaven, and have each been interviewed in little room just like you were. This was a standard procedure. They were full of remorse for their sins and said that they had turned to crime only because they couldn’t feed themselves. They said that they hadn’t meant to kill you, that had been an awful mistake, they had only meant to mug you.” “Well, what is required of me?”, said Oswald. The very official looking person said, “They are being sent back to the same park that you worked at, to be angels in becoming, only their mission will be much harder because their sins were much darker and bleaker, so they will need all the help they can get. Before they leave for their mission and before you leave for the angel forum the Boss just needs you to do one thing. “And what was that”, Oswald asked again. The Boss wants you to forgive them. It wasn’t very easy for Oswald to do. He had liked his life on earth, and he was mad that they took him away from his loved ones. They took him in a small room and he had to look them in the eyes, and say “I forgive you.” But afterwards he felt very relieved and even uplifted, because now he could retire to the angel forum, and he felt good because he knew that what he had done would help them to be better spirits and eventually become angels too. He had given them a gift, and allowed himself to be relieved of this burden so that he could evolve to a higher plane. He had passed on something in his essence to them that was a requirement of spiritual growth – forgiveness for healing and growth. Oswald became a great angel.
