This is a shot of Grimwith reservoir between Grassington and Pateley Bridge in the Yorkshire Dales. The reservoir is Yorkshire Water’s largest reservoir and was built in 1864 and had it’s size increased by 7 times in 1983.
It is a superb walk with excellent views and it is also a host for many forms of wildlife. A superb place.

Love the bright green bathed in that strong light James and the way it runs parallel to the wall and the blue water in the reservoir leads the eye nicely along the shot up to theat lovely cotton wool balled fluffy clouded blue sky.
thanks Stuart, I didn’t enhance this image at all – the colours and light were just ‘as is’ – only work I did was to crop it a touch. glad you like it.

This is brilliant work, James. Grimwith is a beautiful place but I never find it easy to photograph due to its situation.
Thanks – I have been there a few times and haven’t got anything worthwhile, but on this day the lighting was perfect!
