For me, art is a way of communicating things which other forms of communication cannot. The subject matter is not necessarily the end, but more a vehicle for something that is more primal and universal than language. Like music, the elements of a painting work in unison to create a harmonious, stimulating, escape from the mundane and stressful elements of life.
