I discovered a three ring binder that had ‘copies’ of many of the pen and ink works that I produced for an art show at De Grazia Little Gallery in January 1997. It was a shared show with stone sculptress Adele deSimone of Manhattan, that was titled ‘Metaphors In Stone’. I contributed about 60 small 5 × 8 inch pen, ink and illustrator marker drawings on index cards of the Boulders of the Dragoon Mountains. Adele had eighteen small to large contemporary stone sculptures in marble, limestone, and granite.
The show ran for two weeks and attendance was good and we each sold some of our works. I subtitled much of my work ‘The Pornographic Boulders of the Dragoon Mountains’; so as you peruse this portfolio allow your imaginations to run.
There’s about fifty pieces that I’ve scanned in from colored copies I made before the show. Many I’ve not seen since then because they’ve been lost and forgotten at the bottom of a file box. I’ll load a few each day when I do load new work and attempt to show the variety of the work.
This work is primarily illustrator markers which was my first experiences experimenting with them. I like the blurring=bleeding aspect of these markers… makes for a softness!
