I’ve been out and about with my camera and realized I’d collected quite a collection of Saguaro photos. I decided to make a composition of some of the most fun ones… they have such personality!

A persona who has apparently lived a relatively long, varied and eclectic life. My Red Bubble portfolios reflect my seeming persona… and IF there’s any veracity to these reflections then some sense of HUMOUR and enjoyment should be PRESENT!

They do and they look very friendly but I imagine they have a prickly side! (sorry)

  • they do, so NO apology needed… even locals can forget… a few years ago a local vandal was out in the desert shooting giant saguaros with a shot gun… the forest service found him crushed under one that he’d shot and it fell over on him… grim way to go! ;-)))

Nice one.. Do you go out and harvest any of that stuff Like they do here with prickly pear

  • the local tribes do… their large waxy flowers are pollinated by bats… and the ripe fruit is harvested in late spring.

CONGRATULATIONS on your wonderful feature, STUNNING work and well deserved

  • To walk in the Sonoran Desert can be so interesting, the little saguaros in the lower left are probably 3 to 5 years old… while the largest ones are over two hundred years. Thanks for your lovely comment!
