A pen and ink sketch done during our ‘98 trip to Italy. We had walked and walked all day long around Rome and as evening approached we found ourselves in an interesting plaza… and it had an open air cafe for some refreshment and a sit down. Flipping through the guide book I figured out it was the quite famous Campo de Fiori… there was lots of activity going on.
Being in no mood to get up for a while I decided to capture some essence of this place. The ubiquitous Italian Vespa were parked all about, backpackers were going by, down a side street was what seemed like a hotel with a large Italian flag flying over its entry and the lovely cast iron light poles that had announcements taped on them. Yes, preparing this to load to RB took me back to that moment in time… but I can’t remember what we drank! ;-)))
