I had fun drawing this view. Ton Sai bay is known among the young backpacker travelers as where to head to practice and learn mountain (or cliff in this case) climbing techniques. There are high limestone cliffs behind the beach, just as there are those improbably shaped limestone Islands as in my drawing. All day long… and often into the night… young people and their Thai trainers are scaling these cliffs. You get into and off of this beach by ‘long tail’ boats, like the one in my drawing heading out.
