I was parked here to wait and got lost in the view of the old brick work under the bridge. These beautiful groin vaults were cleaned up and the area creatively enclosed for a very upscale restaurant, Gaustavino’s. A small detail in lower right portion represents the upper dining balcony, with clear glass railing… and one patron sitting at their table. Thought I’d explain, cause I had to scratch my own head for a moment. When I did, it must have stimulated my memory because the taste of the terrific sandwich I had came back, as well as having waved at that patron. ;-)))
AND, at the time it was an experiment to draw this unusual perspective. Getting it ready to load meant another late night and finally crawling off to bed way late.
Drawn in my Canson sketchbook during our trip to New york City in Nov. 2000.
