It has been featured in the “Art for the World” group,
and the “Experimental” group.
This won a top ten in a “Avant-Garde Art” group challenge.
Featured in “Tuesday Afternoon” group 8/24/11

The original acrylic painting is 30″×24″, stretched on a 1 1/2" stretcher frame, so the painting wraps back on the edges.

The theme is the notion of the often frenetic energy and vibration of Yin and Yang influences seeking the ‘other’… seeking balance. So much seeking, rushing into the void, and the conception of balance seems few and random. Of course it isn’t… impossible!

The First TAG below (jlh designs) will take you to a collection of James’ ART from all of his Red Bubble sites. ENJOY ;-)))

A persona who has apparently lived a relatively long, varied and eclectic life. My Red Bubble portfolios reflect my seeming persona… and IF there’s any veracity to these reflections then some sense of HUMOUR and enjoyment should be PRESENT!

Hey – great to ‘meet’ you. I love your work and your avatar – very impressive. I don’t know if you have seen much art work by Aboriginal artists here in Oz but this is quite similar to some. There is a whole series of paintings called ‘bush medicine’ by the Petyarre sisters (especially Gloria) which express similar ideas to this work with similar brushstrokes. Isn’t it amazing – the world is such a small place and we are influenced by such similar ideas and feelings. This is great work.

  • What a great and thoughtful comment, thanks so much. I’ve always been drawn to Aboriginal Art, don’t consciously remember seeing anything like my painting… but who knows what and why things stick in the memory banks of the brain… or where and how things really are connected and communicated. We humans are really not very sophisticated receiving machines compared to even so many other creatures here in the world… except maybe receiving through the heart.
Do you have any good ‘links’ to the “bush medicine” work you refer to?

    Hi James,
If you google Gloria Petyarre or even ‘bush medicine leaves’ in Images then examples will come up – they are beautiful paintings. I think that Gloria Petyarre exhibits in New York too and her work is really expensive – good luck to her!

  • Thanks… I’ll go to google next.
