A pen and ink sketch from Tohono Chul Park in Tucson, Arizona. The Tea Room is a wonderful respite inside this urban park’s overall natural Sonoran Desert native plant habitat and grounds.
Drawn in my Canson sketch book on acid free recycled paper.

A persona who has apparently lived a relatively long, varied and eclectic life. My Red Bubble portfolios reflect my seeming persona… and IF there’s any veracity to these reflections then some sense of HUMOUR and enjoyment should be PRESENT!

The detail is amazing!!! How long did it take you to draw this?? I miss my drawing days =(
Time while sketching is so very hard to judge… because while totally engaged it “stands still”… doesn’t it. But over all I’m very fast… so I’d say between ten and fifteen minutes by clock time… it’s why Diane (my partner and muse) can’t understand why I don’t sketch more! Thanks for your comments, I do have lots more sketches to load…

NOW… many months after you left this message… I’m replying… I’ve loaded LOTS more sketches in the last month… BUT (booHoo)… I’ve not seen your beautiful avatar face or hugs and kisses in my “comment” columns… now I’ll go to your portfolio and see what you’ve been UP TO!!!

Great work! You have very interesting style :) I like your choice of subjects too.
My most ardent supporter, my wife Diane, has always loved my style as well as choice of images. Yet, to hear these comments from someone new adds greatly to me appreciating this sense within myself. Yhank you for commenting.

Awesome work James.
Thanks… I love it when a comment (like yours) pops up after the work was kinda forgotten about. It is a nice sketch at that! ; – )))))

Great work the door detail fantastic.
Thanks Andrew, I love detail in the subject of my sketches… they give me the ‘grit’ to push me… How do I draw that? How can I use that detail to show the mood or emotion? Is that detail relevant?
It’s what makes my process fun for me…

It’s almost one in the morning and here I am browsing through your portfolio – I am enjoying the journey.
AND, while you’ve been on this journey I was writing you an immensely long and intricate B-mail… where I suggested if you look at my portfolio and the desciptions you’get answers to a lot of the questions you’ve asked me…
THEN, you received my suggestion without me even sending the B-mail… you see that points to synchronicity… a very relevant concept of all relationships!!! and you can dance to their music, too. more than I can say about some of your musical choices you told me about!!!
