A pen and ink sketch of my partner, Diane, waiting on a bench until I finish my sketch. Tohono Chul Park is a wonderful urban park in Tucson that has several older fine homes on it devoted to art galleries, gift shops and restaurants. These are surrounded by meandering trails through their lush enhanced, though very natural, gardens of native Sonoran Desert vegetation. It’s beautiful and peaceful.
She’s shaded by a Palo Verde tree and rocks and a century plant created the natural composition.
Drawn in my Canson sketch book, 5.5″×8.5″ acid free recycled paper.

This drawing was the ‘avatar’ for the “New Beat Generation” group for the first six months of 2010. I truly enjoyed seeing this image every time I scrolled through my groups!
