A black and white with yellow eyes of this wolf selectively colorized.

This wild lone wolf was apparently booted out of his pack for some type of ‘wolf reason’ and has been spotted a few times roaming the Kootenay’s. During the winter months when food was hard to find he was spotted near the road many times looking for an easy meal and this is where I was lucky enough to spot him one early morning. Worried that he might get hit by passing vehicles, ranger’s finally coaxed him into returning to the backcountry with some well placed deer carcasses. Last update I heard is that he has banded together with a couple of other wolves and is on his way to forming his own pack. Kootenay National Park, British Columbia, Canada
