Fascinating device and a piece of history. Great framing, James. What were they mining for?Best,Brett
Thank you Brett.
The majority of mining in this area of southern Arizona is for copper. About an hour and half south of Tucson is the the town of Bisbee, one of the oldest in Arizona. It is the home of the Queen mine. It was closed in 1975 and now they do tours there. (http://www.queenminetour.com/Mine-Tours)
To the north west of us by an hour and half is the an enormous active copper mine called Morenci, also copper. It is amazing to watch the operations from the observation stops along the road next to the mine. (http://www.mining-technology.com/projects/morenci/)James
