My only child will be 18 this year, as are a lot of his friends that I’ve watched grow up. It’s a difficult time for them, not quite an adult, not really a child and lots of good and not so good influences around. Has been a challenge for me learning how to give him space while still supporting him the past few months. This work is an expression of all that – my child taking flight but still needing the safe, enveloping love that I hope I have given him as he finds his way.
