Jimmy the Indestructible Worm-boy

Jimmy was a normal boy
Just like you and I
But Jimmy was not nice
When it came to bugs and flies

He stomped beetles
To hear them crunch
He wacked moths from the sky
To watch them scrunch

Stretching worms
He considered fun
He burned ants
To watch them run

He flushed cockroaches
To see them sink
And poked stink bugs
To make them stink

As he pulled off spider heads
He watched how they cried
I will not even start
On Jimmy’s butterflies

One day Jimmy stayed home
No school for him
He did not feel well
So he just stayed in

His mother went to work
And when she came home
She could not believe her eyes
Her little boy was gone

In the time she was away
Jimmy underwent a “change”
For all his bad deeds
He became something quite strange

He had grown into a worm
And could no longer speak
He wriggled around
And made a faint squeak

His mother could not bear
What her boy had become
So she sold him to the circus
And tried to forget her son

While the circus folk loaded Jimmy
Into the truck
One stomped on his tail
And what the …

His tail smashed to pieces
And then it back real quick
It seemed that the circus
Had found they’re Jimmy gimmick

He was put on show
And stomped on all the time
And the crowds cheered for more
They loved all the slime

The circus did not know
Because Jimmy couldn’t talk
Every time they smashed him
It hurt a little more

Jimmy still lives
Despite his best efforts to die
In the circus being stomped
As punishment for his crimes
