the yearning

i live my dreams
i live for what i believe in
i am willing to die for my passions
i sit back and think about what i have done
the people i met
the people i miss
the adventures i had
and how i long for them again

but life is slow back home
though they may be fast
i try and find the word
i want to say
but i feel lost
depressed
that i cannot live in that moment

moments where everything you did felt like it had a meaning
where you hope that one photo you took
might touch someone
to do something
donate something

i come back home
the world i once knew
doesn’t have that sparkle
and so i peel back the label on my beer
my eyes well but i do not cry
i would like to

i dream about those moments
and how i could relive them again
awaiting another chance
when i can get enough money to leave
on my dreams and passions

the yearning
