Went on a short but steep and wonderful walk recently with my son James Connolly and friends Gary Kenyon and Shaun Whiteman up to the wonderful Stickle tarn in the Langdales up in the lake district national park in northern England… Stickle Tarn lies in a dramatic location below the steep eastern face of Harrison Stickle (736 metres/ 2,415 feet), the tarn is a waterfilled corrie lying at an elevation of 473 metres (1552 feet) and has a depth of around 50 feet. The tarn was enlarged by the building of a stone dam in 1838 and is used to supply water for the inhabitants of Great Langdale. Nikon D300 and Sigma 10-20mm lens
Hi Jason. Don`t listen to many adverse comments on your photos – They are superb ! (Geoff Boycott always had the right attitude to criticism — he did not accept it from anyone who was not as good a batsman as he was, and as he was “the best” ( I am from Yorkshire !!) he did not agree with many adverse comments !
Cheers John.LOL..I like it!!…Really appreciate the encouraging comments here mate…Thanks..
They both work. In my opinion. Which is, of course, the only one that counts. This one has more symmetry, & the reflected sun is a pinpoint. But in the other one, my eye is NOT drawn to the bright spots ~ rather it goes immediately to the middle distance in the middle of the image. Over-exposure is not necessarily a bad thing (take it from one who knows…), beauty is in the eye (& other cliches), & obviously the popularity of the other one speaks for itself. Hey, Jase.
