Had a great day on a redbubble meet 26th January 2010, went for a 8 miles walk in the English lake district national park, Cumbria England with good friends on Redbubble Shaun Whiteman and Gary Kenyon, the weather was the usual crap but company was great, had a lovely time.
Started off at Blea tarn Info from here (Dramatically beautiful Blea Tarn, one of the Lake District’s innumerable small tarns, occupies a ridge between the Little Langdale Valley and Dungeon Ghyll in Great Langdale. The name blea derives from dark blue…Set in a superbly panoramic location beneath the shadows of the rugged Langdale Pikes, the tarn stands 700’ above sea level. The shores of Blea Tarn are awash with a carpet of wild alpine flowers in the spring and summer. The tarn is quite small, the circuit footpath, which makes an enjoyable walk, takes only about twenty minutes to complete.) .then headed to Elterwater and then up to Lingmoor fell (Info from Wikipedia):
Lingmoor Fell is a fell in the English Lake District, situated eight kilometres west of Ambleside. The fell reaches a modest height of 469 m (1,540 ft) and divides the valleys of Great Langdale and Little Langdale. The fell’s name originates from the Old Norse word lyng meaning “heather covered”. The actual summit of the fell is named as Brown How on Ordnance Survey maps.
Forgot to mention our free mug of tea, popped in to Jamie’s house on the way home to see how he was coping with his broken arm after his little fall, he’s seems to be managing well, cheers for the brew mate…..
