Wow! What a beautiful vista Jason…fabulous views, colors and sky!
If only you could clone out those tourists…damn humans…they’re such a blight on a great photo! ;)

  • Jason Connolly replied

Hi Mate, the views from The loughrigg fells are so amazing and are well worth the visit if your are up this neck of the woods.
I know what you mean about hte humans, but I think it does add a sense of scale to the shot, if you know what I mean.
I do have more I will be uploading in the future of this great area.
    Cheers Matt.

    G’day Jaon,

This is a stunning landscape and you have photographed is extremely well with a depth of field that goes on forever, great focus and a good composition.
The human element adds a wonderful sense of scale and the colours are so rich and pleasing. The little pieces of red are most fortunate as they draw the eye to the people and hence the trail and beyond.
    Lovely work!

  • DualAspect

    DualAspect

This is great work Jason, the colour and detail are lovely, the HDR work is impeccable, and all goes to show you don’t need glorious sunshine to take a great picture. This is inspiration for us all to get out there whatever the weather.

One small point though, is it just me that thinks this needs straightening? The base of the cloud looks distractingly off kilter.

    Best wishes, Thomas Dobner.

Yes mate, I have done just that, I had never noticed the slant before you mentioned it and no one else said anything either before so thanks mate, it’s bugged me ever since so had to rectify it, I think it looks better now.

fantastic image and you have caught the true beauty of the area. the colours are beautiful i was there in august 2007 so not as brown or contrast about. Desperate to get back and try helvellin climb one day.. well done for the feature very deserved.

  • Jason Connolly replied

The colours are best in Autumn and in winter the colours stay on the bracken, I was here in August or rather keswick, it’s so green then, but equally as beautiful, if you come a little earlier in the year the valleys and hills are full of foxgloves, that is such an amazing site too.
I have done Helvellyn and it did me too LOL, I was knackered, you gotta be fit, but it’s one eck of a bit of fun once you are up there, great views as long as the weatehr is good, hope you do it Karen..
